Maynard DePew began his career in 2002 following his graduation from high school. In 2002, Maynard enlisted in the United States Air Force as a firefighter. In 2010, following a tour to Iraq, Maynard cross trained and attended the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Brunswick, Georgia. Upon his graduation from FLETC, Maynard became a credentialed Federal Agent and was assigned to his first office in Anchorage, Alaska. Between 2010 and 2022, Maynard was assigned to multiple stateside Air Force bases and completed multiple tours of duty in combat zones. In 2021, Maynard deployed for a final time to Camp Simba Air Base, Kenya where he was assigned as the Assistant Special Agent in Charge of combat operations targeting the terrorist group known as Al-Shabab. Following his deployment to Kenya and 20 years of active duty service, Maynard retired from the United States Air Force in October, 2022. Maynard returned to Indiana and worked as a Detective at both Garrett Police Department and the Dekalb County Sheriff’s Office.
Mike Wood
Mike Wood is a graduate of Mason High School (MI) and attended Western Michigan University where he studied Secondary Education - mathematics and Political Science. Mike became a police officer in 2012 as a reserve for the Angola City Police Department. After a short stint as reserve officer, Mike was hired full time in 2013. Mike has served the citizens of Angola and Steuben County as a Patrol Officer for eight years and currently is employed as a Detective Sergeant with APD. During his time as an Officer, Mike has been involved in the department as an Instructor, Armorer, STOPs Instructor, Internet Crimes against children investigator, and currently performs Cellular forensics for all agencies in Steuben County. Mike is also involved in the community as the Director of the annual Cops for Kids fundraiser/event as well as Director of youth football for the Angola Kids League.
